Indian legend has it that in 543 B.C. Prince Bhodi-Dharma, a Buddhist prophet, vowed not to sleep for seven years but to devote himself entirely to spreading the teachings of Buddhism. His work took him to China, where after five years he was overcome with fatigue. He was so tired that on a whim he chewed some leaves from an unknown bush. These leaves bestowed upon him a calm resilience that allowed him to fulfill his vow. The mystery bush was named tea.

"Perhaps that is the true gift of a teatime celebration: It fills our cups with joy and warmth and friendship. May the echo of the teacups' message be heard not only at Christmas, not only on special occasions, but anytime friends come together."

Sit back, relax and enjoy  a cup of tea or Chai (the wonder drink from India), now sold in coffee houses all over the country. To learn how to brew a perfect cup of tea at home, click here...

Tea is soothing, warming and uplifting and it also acts like a bodyguard.

Black and green teas contain flavonoids which are known to battle cancer.
Found in many fruits and vegetables, tea and red wine, flavonoids block free
radicals, invade cancer cells and interrupt their cell division process, and
boost immunity.  Green Tea is linked with the prevention of many types of
organ cancer.

Scientific studies have shown very strong evidence that green tea due to its
high levels of polyphenol content may help lower blood pressure and
therefore reduce the risk of strokes and heart disease.

Green tea has a high content of vitamins and minerals. It contains vitamin
C, several B vitamins, magnesium, potassium, manganese. Green tea is also
high in fluoride.
